Biz Insider beefs up on long-form

Business Insider has hired Aaron Gell to help add magazine-style flair to the site. You may recognize him as the recent interim editor at The New York Observer, or as the editorial director at The Upswing!

"Thrilled to be joining @businessinsider, editing long form features," he tweeted, punctuating his announcement with the hashtag #pitchme.

"Congrats @aarongell on the new long-form gig at @businessinsider. It's on," declared Faye Penn, a colleague from the Observer.

"This will be fun!" concluded The Verge's Adrianne Jeffries.

Felix Salmon at Reuters also tweeted congratulations, but quickly followed up with this: "I hereby officially retract my kind tweet about @aarongell," adding mysteriously, "He knows why."

"Thanks, @felixsalmon," Gell shot back. "Can I offer you a breath mint?"

We have no idea what's going on here, but it sounds like it was funny. Congratulations, anyway, Aaron!
