Good news, D.C. - the Washington Post reports that Whole Foods Market signed a lease for H Street NE store. Bonus, Jonathan O'Connell tells us they’re apparently eyeing another at Walter Reed and added, “Whole Foods replacing Murry's is kind of the ultimate gentrification food story, right.” Jessica Goldstein there wrote, “There goes the neighborhood.” Freelancer Jim Newell added, “Ooh look, they're constructing gentrifier zion across the street from me.” Ylan Mui from the Washington Post seemed pretty excited though: “Whole Foods on H Street? OMG, I left at the wrong time!”

Separately, there’s also news that Trader Joe’s has begun building at the Louis Project on 14th and U and could open as early as February. All that means to us is D.C. dinner party! Certainly, we expect an invitation.
