Former PBS journalist joins AJAM

Longtime PBS correspondent Ray Suarez is the latest addition to the brand new network Al Jazeera America. Starting next week, he will begin hosting Inside Story, a daily program on current events.

He tweeted to followers, "I hope you'll follow me to my new television home! 5pmEST Mon-Fri."

WSJ Politics Counts columnist Dante Chinni tweeted him, "[C]ongrats man. I was talking to someone about that show last week and thought you sounded like a great fit."

"We'll have to get you on!" Suarez replied.

A recent inductee into the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Hall of Fame and co-recipient of two Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards, Suarez resigned from PBS Newshour after 10 years as a correspondent because, as he told Fox News Latino, “I felt like I didn’t have much of a future with the broadcast. [They] didn’t have much of a plan for me.”

It appears that AJAM, however, has plenty of plans for him--and we look forward to seeing them!
