Washington Post snares Robert Costa

National Review journalist Robert Costa--who was recently widely lauded by others in the media for his impressive government shutdown coverage--is now headed to the Washington Post as national political reporter. At the beginning of next year, he will leave his NR position as Washington editor for a new adventure with WaPo.

"Take that @Politico! Smart move by @PostBaron hiring @RobertCostaNRO to cover Republicans for WashPost," observed Tom Redburn at BizDay.

"Congrats @robertcostaNRO, only a few years ago your move from NRO to straight msm reporting would have been hard to imagine. Great day 4 msm," acknowledged USA Today's David Mastio.

"[C]ongrats to @robertcostaNRO who’s now going to have to change his twitter handle with his new job which i know to be a painful process," teased Buzzfeed White House reporter Evan McMorris-Santoro. It's a tough task, true, but we're sure he'll rise to the occasion per usual!
