Buzzfeed brings in books editor

Buzzfeed just booked its first books editor: Isaac Fitzgerald, whom you may recognize as the former managing editor of The Rumpus, where he remains co-owner--or, as the co-founder of Pen & Ink, that tumblr blog on tattoos.

"BuzzFeed hires notorious Bay Area badass @IsaacFitzgerald," was the reaction from Mike Hayes, a senior reporter there.

"Every so often, an innocent man is sent to Buzzfeed. Congratulations @IsaacFitzgerald, you beautiful sack of man, you," Gawker's Adam Weinstein teased.

"Congrats! SF will feel smaller without you," confessed Clara Jeffery at Mother Jones.

Even more interestingly, Fitzgerald has pledged to avoid negative reviews. "New BuzzFeed books ed @IsaacFitzgerald won’t do negative reviews: 'Why waste breath talking smack about something?'" Poynter's Andrew Beaujon quoted him.

We look forward to how he will accomplish that admirable goal!
