Curbed has a new home
For some good old-fashioned media news, we hear Vox Media is Buying Curbed.com’s Network of Sites. Zack Seward at WHYY tweeted: “Great news for Curbed Philly et al.” Jeff Roberts at PaidContent said, “Smart buy: Vox Media buys Curbed.. @Lock's real estate and dining sites find a good home.” Jamie Shupak at NY1 wrote, “Woke up to such exciting news for @Lock + crew: Vox Media buys Curbed, Eater and Racked. MAZEL!” Alissa Walker from Gizmodo urged: “Use the $ to bring back The Gutter!” Foster Kamer at Complex said, “WOW. Big ups to @lock and everyone at Curbed Media. Vox is one of the few new media cos doing it right. Good for all.” Erick Schonfeld added this quote from the report: “When the merger is complete, Vox will have roughly 140 people in journalism and video positions."
CNN adds that Vox Media acquired Curbed for $20-30M. Michael Rondon at Folio and Expo Magazines explained: “Vox puts that new funding cash to work right away.” Benjamin Popper at The Verge tweeted: “Welcome to the family @Lock.”
