NYC's One World Trade Center

NBC News broke some news via twitpic this morning: At 1,776 feet tall, New York City's One World Trade Center was officially declared the tallest building in the U.S. This single update received over a thousand retweets and nearing 500 favorites, plus numerous Twitter responses.

... Mostly about the ongoing competition between American cities over claiming that title.

"Building envy," reacted Bostonian-bound Thomas Mucha with the GlobalPost. "Take THAT, Chicago!" was the snarky tweet from Brad Gerick at the New York Daily News. Katie Couric at ABC took that ball and ran with it, via this remark: "Size does matter...at least in the tallest building debate! Chicago vs. NYC."
