Featured journalist: Sarah Jones

Before we kick off the weekend, we wanted to end on a high note by featuring Sarah Jones, the talented deputy news editor at Al Jazeera America.

A self-proclaimed "journalist by birth," Jones has also freelanced with CNN; ITN's Channel 4 News; GulfNews; Digital Journal; BBC World Service; BBC Arabic; and assisted in the making of documentaries such as "Witness" and "9/11: The Day That Changed the World." Her range of beats covers a wide variety of topics from the Middle East to Native Americans and other indigenous groups.

You should check out her portfolio, which yields a wealth of enticing, question-heavy headlines: "Did you know that are two different Taliban groups?" and "What's Really Going On in The Maldives?" are two places you should start.

Remember: If you also want to be featured here, you should 1) set up your own journalist portfolio and 2) let us know by emailing Kirsten.
