Bartiromo departs CNBC for Fox

Nov 18, 2013

It's been confirmed: after two decades with CNBC, "Closing Bell" anchor and "On The Money" host Maria Bartiromo will join Fox Business Network and Fox News next week.

Bartiromo has remained mum about the move on Twitter, but that doesn't mean the rest of the world has done the same:

Ross Kenneth Urken at The Street tweeted, "What a coup de fox @MariaBartiromo head to Fox..."

Adam Lashinsky at Fortune: "Wowza. @MariaBartiromo to @FoxBusiness."

Roben Farzad at Bloomberg Businessweek: "It's official: Rupert and Roger are serious about FoxBiz. Loved doing the WSJ show with you @MariaBartiromo. Mazal tov."

Meanwhile, freelance journalist Staci D. Kramer also added some hard numbers to the news: "Some numbers re @MariaBartiromo move: avg viewers 25-54 acc to NYT: @FoxBusiness - <10k@CNBC - >31k. Maria's twitter followers: >100k."

The math adds up. Congratulations and best of luck to Maria at Fox.
