Today marks the 50 anniversary of the JFK assassination and Bob Ivry at Bloomberg News tells us that the Day JFK Died We Traded Through Tears as NYSE Shut After Selloff. Jen Haley there said, “Such a moving piece by @bobivry about what happened on the floor of the #NYSE when #JFK was assassinated.”

Similarly, Margaret Sullivan at the New York Times talked to A 50-Year Timesman who Recalls it as 'the Most Exciting Moment I've Had.’ Matt Sullivan there said, “The great Bob Semple, still the man. #JFK.” Colleague William Alden tweeted this quote from Sullivan: "When I heard it, I knew I wasn’t going to the Yale-Harvard game.”

Dave Hyde tweeted this photo with the caption, “On the train. Fifty years ago tomorrow.”

And Ta-Nehisi Coates has As It Happened: AP Wire Copy of the JFK Assassination in The Atlantic. Anita Snow from the Associated Press thinks, “This is pretty cool.” Lauren Johnston at the New York Daily News explained it happened “Via teletypesetter.” Jim Sciutto at CNN said, “This is a riveting read.” Matt Norlander with CBS Sports summed it all up: “It’ll rightly be JFK overload in your feed today. This is worth the click: the ever-updating AP wire as it went down.”
