ProPublica hires Pulitzer winner

Dec 02, 2013

ProPublica will soon welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning Julia Angwin of the Wall Street Journal as a senior reporter. After over 10 years with WSJ, most recently as a technology editor and columnist, Angwin will be similarly charged with covering technology as well as privacy and the surveillance state for ProPublica.

"In privacy journalism news, @JuliaAngwin who launched WSJ's "What They Know" series is heading to @ProPublica," observed Kashmir Hill with Forbes.

"Nice get there, @ProPublica in landing the dogged and excellent @JuliaAngwin," commented NewsCorp senior vice president Raju Narisetti.

"She's a gem," harmonized Jack Shafer at Reuters.

"The news is out: I'm leaving @WSJ in a few weeks to join @ProPublica," Angwin shared on Twitter, adding, "Thanks for all the kind tweets!"
