Persons of the year

Dec 09, 2013

Speaking of Edward Snowden, he was voted Guardian’s person of the year for 2013, as explained by Frances Perraudin there. Atish Patel with the Wall Street Journal wrote, “Good choice, I think.” James Titcomb from the Telegraph added, “Edward Snowden was after that award all along.”

Elsewhere, TIME is staying relevant with their Person of the Year franchise. Today, you can see the top 10 contenders - the top choice will be revealed tomorrow. Freelancer Gregg Carlstrom looked ahead: “Looking forward to tomorrow's angry editorials about how @TIME overthrew the winner of the popular vote for POY.” John Edwards at the Wall Street Journal had his own ideas about the list, “Might as well have called this the top nine, because there is no universe in which Miley will be person of the year.”
