CJR snares WaPo journo as EIC

The Columbia Journalism Review has discovered a new publisher and editor in chief in Liz Spayd of The Washington Post. Most recently WaPo's managing editor, Spayd devoted the past 25 years to the publication while also serving in different roles such as Website editor, assistant managing editor, metro reporter and national business editor.

"She rocks. Awesome hire," the Post's Chris Cillizza concluded.

"Ok people. In case you were worried... @CJR's newly appointed Editor-In-Chief tweets (err...just not lately) @spaydl!" announced AJAM's Jenni Monet, pointing out a dearth of posts from Spayd over the past year.

But the flurry of tweets was enough to bring Spayd back to Twitter, if just for a moment. "Thanks for all the kind words!" Spayd finally replied to her bevy of supporters. We hope it represents her return to the social network, because we miss her tweets!
