Newsday nabs AP journo for Capitol bureau

The Long Island tabloid is adding to the arsenal of its Capitol bureau by bringing in Michael Gormley of The Associated Press. After 15 years with the AP, Gormley has served the wire as a reporter, columnist and editor. Thirteen of those years were spent at the Capitol, which makes him more than perfect for his new position!

"Welcome aboard! @APgormley. Newsday's added another star to its Albany bureau," Newsday editorial editor Rita Ciolli tweeted him.

Eric Sumberg, the Press Secretary for New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, also joined in: "Congrats to a true Albany pro @APgormley moving to Newsday."
