News Corp Australia names investigative reporter

News Corp Australia has chosen a new investigations reporter from within its own ranks, and it's Kristin Shorten. Previously a journalist writing for the News Corp publication news.com.au, she will now write for the whole network in Australia.

"Thanks @newscomauHQ for an epic year! I'll miss you guys but excited about new adventures down the hall @newscorpaus. Stay classy!" tweeted Shorten, who was also a 2012 Queensland Young Journalist of the Year finalist.

It's a job she will start in February, after the well-deserved holiday on which she's just embarked.

"Don't know when you're back but make sure you check your desk!" colleague Daniel Piotrowski entreated her. "I hope this replacement mug lasts long into your future down the other end of the office!"

... We don't know what the story behind that is, but we're sure it's a good one. Congratulations, Kristin!

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
