Featured journalist: Marisa Taylor

We begin this week of featured journalists with Al Jazeera America's Marisa Taylor, a news digital producer, former Wall Street Journal tech reporter, and self-professed lover of offbeat stories.

An alum of both Stanford and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, Taylor has already garnered several laurels thus far in her career, including the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism as well as honors received for her master's thesis at Columbia. Taking a look at her portfolio, it's full of prime examples of her excellent coverage. You'll want to check out her MarketWatch post "10 Things the TSA Won't Tell You" or her WSJ article "Psychoanalyzing Twitter."  Or, for her most recent work, start with her AJAM piece "Five charged with smuggling meth from North Korea." Bookmark them all for some good reading later today!

Remember: If you also want to be featured here, you should 1) set up your own journalist portfolio 2) get verified and 3) let us know by emailing Kirsten.
