Police spokeswoman returns to news

Jan 16, 2014

We often hear about people moving from news to PR, but it's not every day we see the opposite: Cheryl Fiandaca has joined 7 News Boston as an investigative reporter, leaving behind her job as spokesperson for the Boston Police Department

"Thank you @bostonpolice. #Grateful for the amazing opportunity to work with the best in law enforcement," Fiandaca tweeted, adding the hashtag #bittersweet.

The move represents a return for Fiandaca, who once reported for rival station and ABC affiliate Boston Channel 5.

"Congrats @CherylFiandaca on your next, big chapter! So excited to see you reporting again," tweeted Lindsey Mills, an anchor for WVII ABC 7 and WFVX Fox Bangor in Maine.

And it appears she's off to a running start, as well: "First live shot for @7News," Fiandaca tweeted this week, sharing this twitpic.

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
