Media Mondays

On Sunday, David Carr wrote in the New York Times: Ezra Klein Joining Vox Media, as Web Journalism Asserts Itself. JP Finlay at Comcast SportsNet said it’s an “Interesting read for digital folks.” Allan Hoffman at the New Jersey Star-Ledger called it a “Great take on the future of journalism from David Carr.” Daniel Bentley from Circa rather disagreed: “‘Web journalism asserts itself’ is the funniest thing I’ve read in 2014. We’ve been so shy and retiring until now.”

In this first post for The Verge, Ezra Klein writes Vox is our next. Corbin Hiar at SNL Financial tweeted: “The mission of @EzraKlein's new Vox venture is to be ‘as good at explaining the world as it is at reporting on it.’” Chris Boyette at CNN tweeted this from the post: “There’s space to tell people both what happened today & what happened that led to today.” Brian Manzullo at the Detroit Free Press added: “So @voxmediainc is adding all kinds of awesome people. And they want to add more!”

Via Tumblr post, we also know that Adam Kushner will lead a new digital opinion venture for The Washington Post. Jamie Tarabay at Al Jazeera figured it out: “No wonder the @washingtonpost wasn't heartbroken over one Ezra. They were getting an @AdamBKushner - very very smart.” Lydia DePillis at the Washington Post said, “The WaPo raid of amazing @nationaljournal people continues apace.” Lucia Graves at National Journal just tweeted: “<shakes fist>”
