Political ponderings

Obama aides are feeling doubtful about the political prospects of Hillary Clinton, whose current strategy seems to be repeating the mistakes she made in 2008. Buzzfeed's Evan McMorris-Santoro breaks it down for us in the best way possible: "basically, Dems worry Hillary still doesn’t realize the even the Death Star had that vulnerable exhaust port."

Meanwhile, everyone (and we do pretty much mean everyone) is flipping over Secretary of State John Kerry's beard stubble. "John Kerry is a little early with the playoff beard," Springfield Republican's Patrick Johnson observed. "In a vacuum it's fine. But it's Kerry," Ben White protested at Politico

And in California, women's rights activist Sandra Fluke has indeed filed for a congressional bid, Washington Post's Aaron Blake reports. So it's official: "Looks like Sandra Fluke is running to replace Henry Waxman," tweeted Igor Volsky at ThinkProgress.
