Today's featured journalist is Matt Walks, a sports web producer with Digital First Media Thunderdome in New York City. Walks writes that his journey from the mountains to Manhattan began when he realized he probably wasn’t ever going to be the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. After spending his 2012 summer on the sports copy desk of The Denver Post as a Dow Jones News Fund intern, he was included on the staff’s Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News following the Aurora shootings. One thing led to another, and he ended up in his current role in NYC, where Walks says that he considers himself lucky to be "following his bliss."
