Featured journalist: Justin Willett

Say hello to Justin Willett, Associate City Editor and Business Editor for the Columbia Daily Tribune. Willett's career actually started with the Tribune in 2001 the day after he graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism -- first as a city government reporter, then as a crime and courts reporter.

But he left in 2003 for The Fayetteville Observer as a military reporter, which led him to Iraq in 2004 where he covered members of the National Guard during an "eye-opening" weeklong trip. Later serving as an assignment editor, Willett ultimately returned to Columbia Daily Tribune in 2007 to serve as business editor, then began a column a year later. In his words, this is what being a journalist means: "First and foremost, you don't believe anything and you always have questions. You want the full story to be told at every opportunity."
