WaPo appoints White House correspondent

Katie Zezima will soon depart the Associated Press for a new home at the Washington Post. Now the AP's Newark Correspondent, Zezima will leave behind this role at the end of February before becoming WaPo's White House correspondent.

"Big news: I'm joining @washingtonpost, where I'll be covering the White House. @TheFix @postpolitics," Zezima tweeted today. She later added, "It's been an honor working at @AP alongside so many talented and generous colleagues. Thank you for the opportunity."

"WaPo hires AP's @katiezez to cover White House as part of 'expanding digital strike force,' per memo," elaborated Huffington Post senior media reporter Michael Calderone.

PostTV's Ed O'Keefe was ready to greet her. "Welcome aboard @katiezez, the newest member of the @postpolitics team!" he tweeted.
