Friday's Question of the Day asked … This legendary journalist of yore was dubbed "the first lady of the Black Press" and credited by the Washington Post with "asking the questions no one else would." She was also the first female African-American commentator to be hired by a national network. Who was she? That would be journalist, publisher and civil rights leader Ethel Payne.
