Highest Minimum-Wage State Washington Beats U.S. in Job Creation, according to Victoria Stilwell at Bloomberg. Mina Kimes there said, “Washington has the country's highest minimum wage. That hasn't stopped job growth (even in the service sector).” Colleague Alex Wayne explained, “If Washington State is any example, raising the minimum wage is the opposite of a job-killer.”

The New York Times points out that C.I.A. Employees Face New Inquiry Amid Clashes on Detention Program. Shane Dingman from the Globe and Mail admitted, “When it comes to government spying, my eyebrows keep getting raised... they are now disappearing into my hairline.”

McClatchy’s Jonathan Landay and Marisa Taylor also covered the news, writing CIA monitoring of Senate computers referred to Justice Department. Tim Johnson there wondered, “Did CIA monitor computers of Senate aides writing study of secret detention, water boarding program?” Michael Goldfarb at GlobalPost said, “Not surprising, but shocking just the same.”
