Today we thought we'd spice things up by profiling a photog: Dylan Buell, a photojournalist with The Frankfort State Journal. Since Buell took over his father’s Nikon D70 , his curiosity toward photography has turned first into a passion and then a career. Specializing in sports, nature and news, Buell is also well versed in features. "My goal is to travel the world and find amazing stories in places no one else would think to go," he writes.
Buell has also garnered several honors, including first-place awards from the Kentucky News Photographer Association, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Circle, and the Indiana Collegiate Press Association. You'll find links to Buell's award-winning photography portfolio here. As for what it means to be a journalist, Buell opines, "It means to find a story worth telling. To honestly show only the facts, and let the reader come to a conclusion on their own."
