AP taps deputy editor for US West

Mar 07, 2014

The Associated Press has named Anna Johnson deputy editor for the U.S. West, overseeing coverage from 13 states. Most recently the assistant editor on the AP's Central editing desk, Johnson was also part of the team that received the 2011 Associated Press Managing Editors' Deadline reporting award for coverage of the Joplin tornado and the 2010 APME Deadline Reporting award for coverage of the 2009 Fort Hood, Texas, shooting.

"Congrats on the new gig! I'm sure winters will be a lot more enjoyable now!" colleague Kristi Eaton tweeted her.

"Thank you! And I agree on the winters...no more polar vortex," Johnson replied.
