Star Tribune fills editor role at last

After several months of vacancy, the senior managing editor role at the Minneapolis Star Tribune will be filled -- by Suki Dardarian. Currently the director of audience development and innovation for the Seattle Times, where she was also once managing editor, Dardarian assumes a role left vacant when Rene Sanchez was named top editor last October in the wake of Nancy Barnes' departure for the Houston Chronicle.

"The @StarTribune gets a star, as @SukiDardarian is named the new senior managing editor," tweeted David Boardman, former editor for the Times. "One of best colleagues ever at @seattletimes."

"Right back at you, Dave," Dardarian replied to him. "I am so proud to have been able to work with you so long -- and to count you as such a dear friend."
