WaPo welcomes Tharoor to foreign staff

The Washington Post's WorldViews blog welcomes Ishaan Tharoor next month, when he will begin covering foreign affairs and international news for the publication.

"I guess the cat's out of the bag, huh," Tharoor tweeted after the news was first released, adding, "Not that I would ever keep a cat in a bag..."

Presently a senior editor for TIME as well as editor for the World section on Time.com, Tharoor has also in the past served as a reporter and writer based out of Hong Kong for TIME International.

"Yep, after nearly 8 wonderful years @TIME, I'm moving to DC to join the @washingtonpost's foreign desk. Thrilled," he confirmed on Twitter, sharing this link.

"Very excited to work with @ishaantharoor beginning next month (even though Time says--troll alert!--Columbia is more influential than Yale)," joked Adam B. Kushner with WaPo.

"Gosh. Twitter is being nice to me right now," Tharoor reflected in the face of so many congratulatory tweets. "In that case, please tell me where I should live in DC..." If you've got any suggestions, send him a tweet!
