Today's top political talking points
For the Washington Post, Robert Costa reports Rand Paul is building national network and courting mainstream support for presidential bid. At the Washington Examiner, Charlie Spiering remarked, "Small wonder Rand Paul lashed out at Cruz after CPAC - it was his big 2016 coming out party." Reason's Matt Welch called out a potential contender for quote of the day: “'David Axelrod wasn’t David Axelrod until he was,' Axelrod said." National Journal's Ron Fournier quipped, "so who was @davidaxelrod before he was?"
Also in government, and also from WaPo, we learn secret service agents that were sent home from the Netherlands were warned to avoid trouble. Post reporter Carol Leonnig tweeted, "How many POTUS trips can be marred by bad boy Secret Service partying? Two this month: Miami & Amsterdam." ProPublica's Eric Umansky sarcastically confessed, "I too need reminders not to get shit-faced at work."
