Newsweek names top international position

Mar 28, 2014

Newsweek has named Richard Addis editor-in-chief of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Addis comes to the publication from Financial Times Weekend, where he served as editor since 2002.

And on Twitter, Addis was all business: "Today start as ed in chief of Newsweek (EMEA). We aim for network of 100 freelances plus appoint man ed soonest - email best for queries."

"Good luck in your new job," broadcaster Tim Walker tweeted him. "More than ever, we need that authoritative voice back on the newsstands."

"My erstwhile boss @RichardAddis is taking the helm of European Newsweek; sure to kick some new life into it," concluded Doug Saunders with Globe and Mail.

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
