Washington Post names Tim Herrera social media producer

Mar 31, 2014

The Washington Post has added Tim Herrera as its newest social media producer. It's an excellent fit: currently the social media editor for HowAboutWe Media, Herrera is dripping expertise in all things social.

"Attn Twitter. Stand by for news. Programming note," Herrera posted to his Tumblr, adding the hashtag #shotsfired. "Sooo I’m moving to D.C. to take a position with The Washington Post. Social, projects, writing/reporting. Good stuff." He then addressed his NY comrades: "I love you and will miss New York dearly. Feels weird leaving. Y’all are my IRL favs. But I’ll be back frequently, so let’s make plans."

At The Awl, Elon Green revealed, "According to a source, this is @TimHerrera's Post contract." Herrera quipped in reply, "basically yes i will be paid in pancakes, it’s true."
