WaPo snaps up Marte from MarketWatch

The Washington Post has hired away economics ace Jonnelle Marte from MarketWatch and the Wall Street Journal. Currently a reporter on the healthcare and tax beats, Marte will join the Post as a financial reporter.

"Some news: I'm leaving @WSJ and @MarketWatch to start a new blog for the @washingtonpost! I'm *really* excited for the new adventure," she tweeted. "It's going to be really hard to leave the company after an amazing five years but I'm looking forward to the challenge."

"Congrats to @Jonnelle on her new gig at @washingtonpost!! Such a talented writer," shared WSJ's Elana Zak.

Meanwhile at her new home, digital content director David Beard greeted Marte with "Welcome aboard" and "Can't wait."
