AP taps S Korea chief as ferry coverage continues

The Associated Press has named Seoul news editor Foster Klug as its bureau chief for South Korea. This makes his new position official after having acted as chief of bureau since last year, as Klug already took a lead role covering both Koreas and is playing an integral part in the coverage of the ferry tragedy.

AP tech/business writer Youkyung Lee, also based in South Korea, has shared several bylines with Klug recently, and tweeted, "forgot to share this. Congrats @APKlug AP Seoul buro chief. AP names Klug to top SKorea editorial position."

Klug replied, simply, "thanks YK."
