WSJ adds Mims to tech coverage

Apr 24, 2014

Guess what? Christopher Mims of Quartz is off to the Wall Street Journal and as a technology columnist. Although you know him as Quartz's technology and science editor, Mims will soon pen a weekly column for WSJ while also posting blogs and videos to its digital platforms.

"I got a new job! And it's not busking for change on the G-train, which I briefly considered," Mims joked, while sharing this post, then added, "Related: Quartz now needs a new lead tech journalist. It's one of the best gigs there is. Hit me if you're interested."

"Congrats @mims. Just keep doing your thing. And we'll keep reading," WNYC's Alex Goldmark promised.

"Yeah I give up, too many people to say thanks to," Mims replied to the onslaught of felicitations. "Thank you everyone! Thank you most of all to mentors @kevinjdelaney and @jason_pontin."

Mathew Ingram noticed something else in the job announcement, though. "Today I learned that @mims has a degree in neuroscience."

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
