In what might be the most surprising twist to Other news owner Donald Sterling’s story, the New York Post reported last night that he’s battling cancer. Emily Smith wrote this “all-or-nothing lede” on the matter: “Disgraced racist Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is battling cancer - surprising those around him by beating the final buzzer for as long as he has, sources told The Post on Thursday.” Scott Deveau from the National Post announced it as such: “Wanna read the coldest lede you've ever read?”

Jess Bravin shares Excerpts from WSJ Interview with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Allison Lichter there tweeted this quote from the story: “‘I haven’t seen a social change that rapid in – ever.’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the SCOTUS ruling on gay marriage.” Tom McCarthy at the Guardian added: “Justice Ginsburg, on extent of government surveillance revealed by Snowden: ‘I was surprised.’” And MSNBC’s Adam Serwer added this is an interview “In which RBG describes @Dahlialithwick as ‘kind of spicy.’”

And head into the weekend reading up on The Year of the Facebook from Wired's Mat HonanMatt Sullivan at the Guardian tweeted: “Good @mat: ‘the people on the surface would go soaring off, launched into the void like kozmo.com.’”
