Poynter announces new digital editor

Poynter just appointed Seth Liss digital editor, placing him in charge of website and newsgathering operations. Currently the online managing editor for WAMU in D.C., Liss's résumé boasts considerable experience in digital while spanning nearly every corner of the country: he has also served as online content editor for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and as producer for the San Jose Mercury News.

And the reactions poured in.

"WHAAAAA?! @sliss33 is Poynter's new editor?! Great freaking move (Source: I worked for him). Congrats, sir," gushed Justin Abrotsky with USA Today

Relatedly, Poynter's Andrew Beaujon chimed in, "Welcome to my new boss, @sliss33."

Liss replied, "psyched to work with you."
