Murmurs among the media

May 08, 2014

At The AtlanticDerek Thompson informs us once and for all that journalists are miserable, liberal, over-educated, under-paid, middle-aged men ... mostly. "More moral now tho?" journalist Matthew Nordin pointed out, referring to this graph. Philadelphia Daily NewsWill Bunch reflected, "This article REALLY struck a chord with me, but I can't put my finger on why."

Slate's Amanda Hess pulls no punches again, elaborating on how Maureen Dowd caricatured Bill Clinton’s mistress as a crazy bimbo -- "and won a Pulitzer for it," Hess added on Twitter. At the National JournalRon Fournier reminded Dowd, "Remember, @NYTimesDowd, the revolution always eats its own."

Plus, Bloomberg Businessweek's Joshua Green tells us the Heritage Foundation news site seeks mainstream impact --- alternatively titled "The Tea Party Gets Into the News Biz."

Oh, and here's The Huffington Post, nine years on.
