The New York Times brings us the grim news that scientists say collapse of parts of West Antarctica ice sheet has begun. With the Smithsonian Ocean Portal, Hannah Waters shared, "'There’s nothing to stop it now.' The West Antarctica is collapsing, may cause 10 feet of global sea level rise." NYT's Kirk Johnson wondered, "Is this the story that in 100 years is remembered as the corner turned?" Still, Wall Street Journal's Christopher Mims reminded everyone, "It's silly that sea level rise grabs headlines. It's the least immediate of the impacts of climate change."
