Steel to join NYT media beat

The New York Times is gearing up to welcome Emily Steel as a media reporter covering the TV industry. Previously with The Wall Street Journal, Steel currently serves as the media and marketing reporter for the Financial Times. At least until June 16!

"I remember @emilysteel as a precocious intern on Tampa Bay Times edit board; now she's covering TV for the NYTImes," reminisced NPR's Eric Deggans, himself a TV critic.

"Just thrilled about the opportunity!" Steel shared on her own Twitter.
