WaPo names former Salon.com EIC as senior editor

Kerry Lauerman will soon join the Washington Post in a senior editor role, spearheading a new mobile initiative.

Lauerman most recently launched the animal news site The Dodo, but you'll also recognize him from his days as Salon.com's editor-in-chief, with previous stints as an editor with Mother Jones and The New York Times Magazine, as well.

"Unbelievably excited," Lauerman tweeted in answer to many congratulatory tweets.

At The Atlantic, Alexis Madrigal teased, "congrats! Are you going to figure out how we can make money off mobile traffic?"

Lauerman quipped, "thinking . . . and done." This man wastes no time!
