Something happened in politics
We learned last night from Jonathan Martin at the New York Times that Eric Cantor Loses G.O.P. Primary. Shantal Riley said, “Eric Cantor Defeated by David Brat, Tea Party challenger, in G.O.P. primary upset.”
Also in the New York Times, Jonathan Weisman and Jennifer Steinhauer explained that Cantor’s Loss is a Bad Omen for Moderates. Mike Forsythe there tweeted this bit from the story: "Mr. Cantor’s demise is mildly Shakespearean." Joseph Checkler from Dow Jones Newswires had a different persepective on it, “If Cantor bought 627 more $50 steaks, he could've bragged that he spent as much on steak as his opponent spent TOTAL!”
From BuzzFeed, McKay Coppins gave us: Rand Paul's Camp Says Cantor's Defeat Had Nothing To Do With Immigration.
Elsewhere in Washington, the American Statesman says Wendy Davis replaces top campaign aide. Anna Brand with MSNBC suggested, “Or the other way around .. ?” Chuck Todd also at MSNBC added, “Davis' TXGOV campaign making Tony Sanchez circa 02 seem stable.”
