Standing in solidarity and silence

Consternation continues in the wake of the Egyptian court ruling against three Al Jazeera journalists. In London, hundreds of journalists gathered in London to protest against the seven-year jail terms (414 shares) and share a moment of silence. The twitpics of BBC journalists showing solidarity are overtaking Twitter: like this one, or this one, or this one by BBC's Jeremy Bowen, who tweeted, "In solidarity with jailed Al Jazeera journalists in Egypt & all others under threat."  Sarah Jones with Al Jazeera America called the outpour of support "One of the many reasons I <3 the beeb."
