Question of the Day
Yesterday's question of the day asked: Thomas Jefferson sued this newspaper for libel -- and lost. Mark Twain also tried to buy stock in this paper, but his offer was turned down. Which newspaper is it? (Hint: If you keep scrolling, you'll find the answer pretty quickly!) That would be the Hartford Courant, which was yesterday's "Spotlight Newsroom" of the day!
Congratulations to Marty Ray of Harvard for being the first to answer that correctly! Honorable mentions also go out to Edward Tenner, Carrie Gray, Irene DeBlasio, Annie M. Dance, Amy Zipkin, Ken Walker and Hollywood Highlands for all getting that right, as well!
As for today's question, here it is: What was New York's newspaper circulation per capita in 1830, before the introduction of the penny press?
