The AP poaches from Dallas News

The Associated Press just named Maud Beelman to a new position overseeing news coverage in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Beelman joins from The Dallas Morning News, where she has served as deputy managing editor for investigations and enterprise. She'll remain based in Dallas. 

Deputy Europe Editor Tom Berman, who will move to Chicago soon to help oversee Midwest coverage, tweeted of the news, "Excited to be working with @maudbeelman, who will lead AP's coverage in #Texas#Arkansas and #Oklahoma."

"My feelings exactly," Beelman replied. "Thanks for a great opportunity."
