FT taps Murphy as DC bureau chief

Financial Times has anointed Megan Murphy as its next Washington bureau chief, overseeing all coverage of US politics. Currently the head of FastFT, sometime in the next few months Murphy will relocate from London to D.C. in preparation for her Jan. 1 start date.

In response to the news, FT reporter Shannon Bond tweeted, "huge congrats to @meganmurp, soon to be the @FT's Washington bureau chief. DC's not gonna know what hit it..."

Murphy replied to all, "Thanks people for the congratulations. Looking forward to the challenge... and perhaps *slightly* later starts...#fastFT"
