Promotions abound at AP Video

The Associated Press just upped several individuals in its video department. First, Derl McCrudden is promoted to head of international video news. Previously head of video newsgathering, McCrudden first joined the AP in 2010. Meanwhile, head of video content development Debora Gorbutt will add oversight of AP Middle East Extra, a new service providing unique video content for that region.

"Congratulations to my old @AP collegues @derl & @DGorbutt on their recent big promotions!" tweeted Janet Weinstein at Al Jazeera America.

"Huge congrats to Derl McCrudden, promoted to lead AP video coverage. A terrific collaborative journalist," shared AP's Michael Giarrusso.
