AP names a new music editor

Mesfin Fekadu has been named music editor for the Associated Press. Previously an entertainment producer and then a music writer for the AP, Fekadu has interviewed numerous celebrities, from Beyonce to the Rolling Stones, and covered major news events in the industry, including the deaths of Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston.

"So excited for my good friend @MusicMesfin, named music editor at the AP," tweets Wesley Lowery at the Washington Post.

Meanwhile, Mesfin tweets this celebratory Instagram: "because i'm happy #pharrellvoice."
