#MuckedUp chat: A week in review

No, our site hasn't broken down, and you haven't reached this page in error. The Muck Rack Overwhelmed Octopus just so happens to be the perfect mascot for this week's tweetchat. You see, we've been racking our brains to come up with one, singular topic for this next #MuckedUp, but there were so many options. Should we focus on the startup Fluence and discuss the ethics of musicians paying journalists to listen? Or perhaps what Mat Honan of Wired's experiment with liking everything on Facebook means for how our audience processes news? Or maybe the 17 reasons we need to stop writing articles in Buzzfeed/listicle form? Or should we talk about Jezebel's rape gif problem? And how can we avoid considering how to responsibly cover suicide, in the wake of this week's tragedy? ... How about we discuss all of these at once?

For this week's tweetchat, we'll shake things up a bit by discussing anything and everything topical in journalism that we haven't already hashed out in a recent #MuckedUp. We've mentioned a few topics we'd like to broach, but we're open to even more possibilities. If you have a news-related question you're inspired to debate at tonight's tweetchat, please feel free to email or tweet it to me any time between now and the start of our chat at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST, and we promise to incorporate it into this evening's discussion. See you tonight!
