Buzzfeed business beat gets Gara

Sep 04, 2014

BuzzFeed means business about its business coverage, so editor Peter Lauria is bringing in Wall Street Journal's Tom Gara. Currently the editor of WSJ's Corporate Intelligence Blog, Gara will be the latest team member in the effort to launch a Buzzfeed business vertical.

"Thanks everyone. My guidance of @BuzzFeedBiz will by fair and just," Gara tweeted, later revealing, "For all those asking, yes, you lose the stipple pic when you leave WSJ. You hand it in on the last day, like a cop with his gun and badge."

In sharing his own piece on the announcement, Re/code's Peter Kafka tweets, "Candid comments from @peterlauria3 re: challenges, oppty for @buzzfeed biz section. Help from @tomgara coming soon."
