AP promotes one, adds another

The Associated Press welcomes Lynne O'Donnell as Kabul bureau chief while promoting Maya Alleruzzo to regional photo editor for the Middle East.

A foreign correspondent who has covered major stories throughout the Middle East and Asia for two decades, O'Donnell takes the reins of the AP's Afghanistan coverage at a time of considerable turmoil.

"Congrats to @lynnekodonnell on her new job as @AP Kabul's bureau Chief. She is one of the best!" remarked foreign correspondent Conor Powell at Fox News

Meanwhile, Alleruzzo is a photographer with experience covering wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and who most recently served as Egypt Photo Editor for the AP. Now she takes charge of more than 30 staff photographers and editors, as well as freelancers, overseeing a region that also includes parts of North Africa as well as Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"Honored to share a bit of personal news," Alleruzzo tweeted, sharing this link
